This wood fired stoneware tumbler was selected by Katie Bosley to be in a national cup show at Clay Arts Vegas in Las Vegas, NV. The tumbler has an amber celedon glaze and was in the second chamber of te kiln where salt is added late in the firing. The sale and the wood ash interact with the glaze causing the wonderful rivelets of glass. This tumbler works equally well for an IPA or as the perfect coffee mug for your car's cup holder. Like all my work it is dishwasher and microwave safe.
Amber Tumbler (2019 Cup Show: Clay Arts Vegas)
All pots are high fired (2,400F) stoneware or porcelain. They are wood fired in a wood burning kiln for over 24 hours. As the flame crosses the pots, iron is drawn to the surface so the flames 'draw' permanent flashing marks on the pot, and the ash melts to form a glaze. All work is food safe, and dishwasher and microwave safe.
