This wood fired tumbler was one of the invited pieces at the Beer Vessel Invitational, a national show held at the Lorton Workhouse Art Center in conjunction with the annual Brewfest. It is made with a "wild" North Carolina clay (Darkstar) that fires almost purple in color. It was fired on the bagwall, and so strongly shows the effect of the ash on the clay body. The interior is glazed, but the color and shine on the exterior is just due to the impact of the fire on the clay. It is high fired (2,400 degrees Fahrenheit), and dishwaher, microwave safe. It is 3.5" in diameter and 5.5" tall. Great for your favorite beer, or coffee in your car's cup holder
