This shino glazed 'garlic jail' was selected by Cathi Johnson, the juror, for Tabletop: Functional Artwork for the Table. This national exhibit was at the Art League Gallery, Torpedo Factory, Alexandria, VA, in early 2018. Garlic tends to get soft in the refrigerator, but may run amok on the kitchen counter. The garlic jail keeps your garlic fresh and in confinement. This piece was next to the bagwall of the kiln and shows the effects of the flame and ash from the fire. It is dishwasher and microwave safe.
