This wood fired stoneware mug (3x3.5x4) was selected by Kenyon Hansen, juror, for the 2017 National Beer Drinking Vessel Exhibition that was held at District Clay Gallery, Washington, DC. The green dolomite glaze contrasts nicely with the orange flashing on the raw clay body. It is high fired (2,400F), and like all of my work is dishwasher and microwave safe. Filled with beer, tea, or coffee; it makes a nice companion on your couch.
Beer Mug (National Beer Drinking Vessel Exhibition, 2017)
All pots are high fired (2,400F) stoneware or porcelain. They are wood fired in a wood burning kiln for over 24 hours. As the flame crosses the pots, iron is drawn to the surface so the flames 'draw' permanent flashing marks on the pot, and the ash melts to form a glaze. All work is food safe, and dishwasher and microwave safe.
