This wood fired stoneware cup (3x3x3) was selected by David Crane, juror of the National Juried Bowl Show: Battle of the Bowls. This cup was fired in the first chamber near the firebox and exhibits heavy ash accumulation that accentuates the shino glaze. it is high fired (2,400F), and like all of my work is dishwasher and microwave safe. It is comfortable in the hand, perfect for wne, bourbon, or tea.
Shino Yunomi (2017 Battle of the Bowls)
All pots are high fired (2,400F) stoneware or porcelain. They are wood fired in a wood burning kiln for over 24 hours. As the flame crosses the pots, iron is drawn to the surface so the flames 'draw' permanent flashing marks on the pot, and the ash melts to form a glaze. All work is food safe, and dishwasher and microwave safe.
