This wood fired stoneware cup (4x3.5x3) as selected by Courtney Murphy, juror of the 4th Annual Cup Show in 2016 for the national exhibit at Studio 550, Manchester, NH. It is high fired (2,400F), and like all of my work is dishwasher and microwave safe. Comfortable in the hand with coffee or tea, it can become a permanent fixture on one's desk.
Four-tiered Green mug (4th Annual Cup Show, Studio 550)
All pots are high fired (2,400F) stoneware or porcelain. They are wood fired in a wood burning kiln for over 24 hours. As the flame crosses the pots, iron is drawn to the surface so the flames 'draw' permanent flashing marks on the pot, and the ash melts to form a glaze. All work is food safe, and dishwasher and microwave safe.
